Org chart and absence calendar

Reporting lines resolved as of a date, and who is away when.

The org chart

Reporting lines come from engagements, resolved as of a date rather than from a stored hierarchy. A manager is a worker, with no requirement that they belong to the same legal entity as their report — and in a group structure they usually do not.

Somebody with two engagements has two managers

That is not a data error, and the chart does not resolve it to one. A person can appear under two lines because they genuinely report to two people — see User, member, worker, engagement.

Somebody with no manager recorded sits at the top level. That is how a chart shows an owner, and also how it shows a gap worth filling.

The absence calendar

Who is away, when, across the organisation. It reads the same materialised leave days the capacity calculation uses, so the calendar and the sprint number cannot disagree with each other.

It shows absence, not reasons. A line manager can see that somebody is away without being shown anything from the personal or compensation classes — see Roles and access.
